Midnight Showing GB2 — April 8, 2006

             Theatre managager Brad Hesselbrock invited us back for one more go at the La Jolla Landmark Theatre.  A classic independent theatre, the Landmark is known for showing contemporary hits, indie films, up and comers and even midnight showings of the classics.  This spring’s theme was “Sequels”.  In addition to Aleins and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, it was only natural to show Ghostbusters 2.  Sporting a re-tooled SlimeBlower, we showed up and sprayed the crowd in line outside down with silly string.  ...Um, I meant slime.

             The highpoint of the night was seeing the life-sized painting of Vigo the Carpathian.  The facial cutout was perfect for putting your own mug in for a pic opportunity with everyone’s favorite scientific quartet.  Finally, a chance to see the world through the eyes of a diabolical mad wizard.  An opportunity only comes once every few hundred years, folks.

             Thanks to Brad for the invite!  It was a great time.

Gearing up in the parking lot, the four of us prepare to head in for the movie.

I don’t know what I was doing, but it looks a lot like Bill Murray doing that twirling thing he did in the first movie.

Uh, I think this was the part where Ray turned into “Vigo-Ray” for a minute.

Our benefactor Brad greets us in the lot and briefs us about the night’s activities.

We stopped for some shameless plugging for Jamba Juice at their booth.  Free juice all for the low price of a pic of us holding up their product?  Sounds good to us.

Yes, that’s actually me as Vigo, not Sgt. Schultz from Hogan’s Heroes.  Hard to tell, isn’t it?

Chris from the band The Channeling stops by to say hi and toss on a proton pack.  Seconds later, Chris cut a hole in the wall in front of him.  YIPPEE!!

The star of the movie Ghostbusters 2, it’s VIGO!  We are like the buzzing of flies to Vigo!  He’s VIGO!  Oh Johnny, did you bet on the wrong horse.
